The Story of Villa Nicastro
It started back in the 1900's with Papa Lou's parents, Dominick
and Jennie Nicastro from Napoli, Italy. Jennie Nicastro made her
traditional neopolitan food for the great pleasure of entertaining family
and friends. Because of his parents' background and example from
birth, it seemed that hospitality and a knack for preparing good food
would bubble through Lou's veins.
Not surprisingly, Lou married Carmencita Trocola
of Lodi,
New Jersey, who shared Lou's passion for good food,
friendship and hospitality.
From the 50's through the 80's, Papa Lou and
Carmen perfected
their skills in various areas of the food business, preparing their
specialties for groups of 25 to 500 people.
And now, when most people of Lou and Carmen's
age are retiring,
they are embarked on a new venture, putting their expertise to work
and creating Villa Nicastro - a fulfillment of their dreams
and destiny.
Staying true to their roots with Carmen supervising
the kitchen,
Villa Nicastro serves authentic Italian dishes, some with a history
in the Nicastro family dating back to the turn of the century.
Grandma Jennie's homemade ravioli, Carmen's daily trattoria-style
specialties (including homemade manicotti, veal and chicken dishes),
are limited only by what's fresh at the market and
Carmen's imagination.
Lou and Carmen know that good food alone does
not assure
success. That's why they have put their unique fingerprint on
Villa Nicastro, combining hearty good food with a friendly
"Old World" charm and family
atmosphere, along with the music
from "their" time - the 50's, 60's and 70's, and
their
Italian favorites too. Come join us!
